Llanelli,South Wales - An infatuated teen helped a killer clean up a gruesome murder scene

Sophie Jones, 18, helped clean up after a man's body was burned in a pit

A love-struck teenager mopped up blood after a man's body was burnt in a pit in a back garden, a court heard.
Sophie Jones, 18, helped clean up the gruesome grisly murder scene after becoming "infatuated" with one of the killers.
A court heard she had been "very young, very immature" and had done some "very silly and occasionally very wicked things"
Mr Justice Edis said there had been "blood everywhere" after victim Maruisz Majewsky had been killed and dismembered.
He was later burned in a pit in a back garden in Swansea.
Sophie Jones helped clean the house where Phillip Hudson-Jones, together with accomplice Adrian Iwanowski, had carried out the killing.
Mr Justice Edis said: "You knew what Iwanowski wanted. You would not have been permitted in the house that night if you did not know what had happened and if you could not be trusted to keep quiet about it.
"There was, as you said, blood everywhere.
"You played a small part in a really serious cover-up operation which might well have been successful."
The judge Mr Justice Edis said the killing on November 10 last year may never have been discovered had Iwanowski not later told police.
Hudson-Jones, 46, and Iwanowski, 21, were convicted of murder at Swansea Crown Court on November 2 this year.

Both were handed life sentences, with Hudson-Jones, of Pleasant View, Llanelli, being told he must serve a minimum of 22 years, while Iwanowski, of Station Road, Llanelli, must serve at least 15 years.
Jones, who lives in supported accommodation in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales, was found guilty at trial of assisting an offender with intent to impede apprehension.
Appearing at Southwark Crown Court, in London, via videolink from remand prison, she was given two years in a young offender institution suspended for two years.
The court heard the teenager had been aware of the plot to kill Majewsky, a drug dealer who was on the run from Germany, because he had attacked Iwanowski several months earlier.
The judge said messages the teenager sent to Iwanowski, which had been shown to the jury at the trial, gave an insight into her motive.
"I am satisfied you became involved in this atrocity because you were infatuated with Iwanowski," he said.
Sentencing her, Mr Justice Edis said the offence justified a custodial sentence but Jones' time already served on remand, totalling 171 days, meant her "liberty has already been substantially curtailed".
Jones was also given 12 months' supervision, and must complete 120 hours of unpaid work, as well as 20 days of rehabilitation.
The judge added: "I think you are very young, very immature and that you do some very silly and occasionally very wicked things.
"You have an opportunity to get your life back together and live it properly."
Jones, who was wearing a grey hoodie and had her hands in her pockets throughout the hearing, said "thank you" after the judge had concluded sentencing.
