Caernarfon,North Wales - Sex beast who raped girl he promised to turn into a star jailed for 10 years

A 'controlling sexual predator' who promised to turn a young girl into a singing star instead subjected to her to a horrific rape ordeal.
Kevin Paul Roscoe had groomed his victim, promising her fame and fortune, and and lured her to a recording studio.
But once there, he repeatedly raped her, and when she pleaded with him to stop he called her “f***ing stupid” and even complained that she’d ruined the experience for him.
Today, Roscoe, 59, was jailed for 10 years, he still refused to accept his guilt and shouted from the dock at Mold crown court that “it didn’t happen”.
Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins - via a video link from Newport court - told him he had abused the girl’s trust, and his pursuit of her leading up to the attack had been relentless.

The court heard on one occasion he’d forced her to commit sex acts with her best friend while he watched.
“You used your control over her to do as you wanted,” the judge said.
Roscoe, of Ceunant Street in Caernarfon, had denied all offences, which had left the victim seriously traumatised well into adulthood.
The judge said that he took into account that he had a wife who was standing by him and he would be vulnerable in prison.
A number of people had written testimonials which showed that there was another side to him.
An indefinite sexual harm prevention order was made.
The pre-sentence report suggested that he was a high risk of serious harm to female children in particular but the judge said that taking into account the age of the offences, and the fact that he could make other orders to protect the public, he would not be sentenced as a dangerous offender.
Kim Halsall, defending, said that at the time of the offences Roscoe had been running a farm and working at a laundry.
Testimonials described him as hard working, a generous man with a kind heart who would help others.
DC Chris Arkell at North Wales Police's Amethyst team, which investigates serious sexual offences said: “This investigation was only possible with the courage and resolve of the victim and witnesses in this case.
"I commend their bravery.
"Mr Roscoe has abused the trust that a young teenage girl placed in an adult, leaving lifelong emotional scars.
"I hope that this result today goes some way in healing this hurt.”
