Wrexham-based side Cefn Druids were humbled by Caernarfon Town as a number of fans clashed with the players near the end of the defeat
Shocking moment violence erupted between a Welsh football team and watching fans after a 7-0 home defeat today.
Wrexham-based side Cefn Druids were humbled by Caernarfon Town as a number of fans clashed with the players near the end of the defeat.
In the incredible footage, filmed by Greg Evans from Wrexham, a Druids player can be seen within the stand area of the ground before the confrontation escalates and a number of fans throw wild punches.
Other players then join the melee as supporters jump in to break up the violent clashes.
It is understood the initial player involved had been sent off for a headbutt towards the end of the match, which continued briefly after the incident until the final whistle.
Mr Evans, 18, said: "The player was sent off but as he walked to the changing room he became involved in an argument with a Carernarfon fan and then it escalated.
"The other players from Cefn Druids stepped in to try and break it up. There were police right there next to around 100 Caernarfon fans and then I saw around 10 other police cars turn up afterwards."
The incident marred what had been a great day for Caernarfon Town who secured the Huws Grays Alliance title with the win.
Caernarfon Town told the Daily Post they have no comment to make at this stage and are awaiting the referee's report.
