Conwy,Penmaenmawr,North Wales - CCTV captures moment vandal slashes Conwy driver's tyres

The incident happened at around 2.45am on bank holiday Monday in the Esplanade area of Penmaenmawr

A man whose car has been vandalised three times in eight months says poor street lighting has contributed to the offenders evading capture.
Chris Squire had the driver’s side panels scratched and acid thrown over his vehicle last September, his tyres slashed on Christmas Day and a tyre knifed again in the early hours of this morning.
The traffic management supervisor from Penmaenmawr says the campaign of vandalism, which he believes stems from the same source, has cost him £1,500 so far and police are yet to find the culprit.
Mr Squire believes poor lighting in the Esplanade area of the town has helped the perpetrator evade detection.
“I blame the council,” said the 38-year-old. “After the second time I said to my partner it was far too dark at night and we contacted a man from the council who said they would get a light down here.
“It’s very, very dark. There is a light there but it is very dim.
“I would have put a light up there myself if they hadn’t said they would do it.”
The latest incident, the first to be captured by Mr Squire’s CCTV system, clearly shows a slimly built man go to the far side of the Freelander 2 and disappear out of sight, before coming to the nearside and appearing to jab something into the 4x4 vehicle’s tyre.
“We have reported the incidents to the police three times but this is the first time I have caught it on CCTV,” said Mr Squire, who has lived in the area for 15 years.
“At the moment I am going through some CCTV footage from another source just to see if anyone has passed there.
“I can’t say what I really want to say but it has cost me almost £1,500.
“The problem is with it being a 4x4 I need to replace all four tyres because of the differential as it’s always in four-wheel drive.”
