A pair of severed pig’s heads have been discovered by police in woodland near Brynteg on Anglesey.
A member of the public first reported the gruesome discovery to police but thought it was fly-tipping.
When officers investigated they found two pigs heads and other parts of carcasses.
They are now liaising with Anglesey County Council.
PC Dewi Evans of North Wales Police ’s rural crime team said: “A member of the public reported to us they found waste but they did not know what it was.
“They said it was fly tipping, near Brynteg, Anglesey.
“We went along at about 2pm on Wednesday and it turned out to be two pig’s heads and a back and various other body parts.
“There was no meat.
“In the past we have had a similar deposits, if that is what you call it.
“It has happened before in that area of Anglesey but that was a long time ago and now we have had a fresh one.
“It’s a very grisly find.”
He added: “We suspect someone is trying to avoid the fees for depositing an animal carcass and we are continuing our investigation.”
