A COUPLE who were living in a tent on Swansea seafront have appeared in court charged with separate offences on the same day.
Swansea Magistrates Court heard that Barry Michael Cooke and Corrina Elizabeth Bryant had been a couple for around four months and had travelled to the city from Cardiff and pitched their canvas home near Swansea Marina.
On January 30 Cooke is alleged to have slapped and head-butted his partner while they were in the tent — the 35-year-old pleaded not guilty to assault when he appeared before justices, and he was released on bail ahead of a trial before justices on March 21.
Dan Griffiths, for Cooke, said his client maintained the incident had been an "accidental clash of heads".

Bryant, aged 31, then pleaded guilty to a public order offence committed later that same evening when she was seen by police "shouting obscenities" at pub-goers on Wind Street.
Bryant was fined £40 and told to pay £85 costs and £20 surcharge — but justices decided to take the day she had spent in custody since her arrest in lieu of payment.
