Bangor,North Wales - Thieves snatch cash from woman's purse in Bangor

TWO men are wanted by police after cash was stolen from a woman’s purse at Bangor railway station.

British Transport Police said two men picked up the 19-year-old woman’s purse after she accidentally dropped it after using a ticket machine at about 8pm on Friday, January 8.

The pair rooted through the Deganwy woman’s purse for a few minutes before handing it in as lost property.

Investigating officer PC Rob Thomas said: “After realising her purse was missing, the victim made some enquiries with rail staff and was soon reunited with her property.

“However, it was at this point she discovered that £60 had been taken from the purse.”

Officers isolated CCTV images of two white men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The first is described as being of medium build, with dark hair, and was wearing dark trousers and a blue jacket with white stripes down the arms and a distinctive design on the back.

The second man is of slim build, with brown hair and was wearing a white jacket with a blue top underneath, dark trousers and white shoes, and was carrying a blue rucksack.

Both men were seen to stand next to the bus stop outside the front of the ticket office at Bangor station for around 15 minutes before getting into a dark 5-door hatchback at around 8.25pm.

PC Thomas added: “Although the images aren’t particularly clear in terms of facial characteristics, I am convinced someone will recognise these individuals, either by their clothing or simply their association with one another.

“It is crucial we speak to these two men.”
