Maesgwyn, South Wales - Robbers 'forced their way into an 86-year-old woman's home and demanded money from her'

A man and a teenager forced their way into an 86-year-old woman’s Cynon Valley home and demanded money from her, police have said.

South Wales Police are appealing for information after the robbery in Maesgwyn, Cwmdare, on Tuesday, February 9

South Wales Police are appealing for information following the robbery in Maesgwyn, Cwmdare, when the two made off with money and a mobile phone.
It happened between 5.40pm and 8.15pm on Tuesday, February 9.
According to police, the elderly lady answered a knock on her front door and two people forced their way inside demanding money.
The suspects took cash and a mobile phone, and made off on foot.
A statement from South Wales Police said: “The suspects are both believed to be male.

Appeal for witnesses

“One man is thought to be white, in his 20s, of average build and clean shaven.
“He was wearing a light grey zip-up hooded fleece with strings on the hood and light grey canvas workmen’s gloves with blue plastic on the underside of the fingers.
“The second suspect is described as being around 14 years of age, of slim build and around 5ft 10in to 5ft 11in. He was wearing a black hooded tracksuit style top with black trousers and black gloves.
“If you recognise the description of the suspects, or have any information that could help us with our enquiries, please call us on 101 quoting reference number 1600048086.
“Alternatively if you do not feel comfortable speaking directly to us then you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
