A mother has appeared with her son at Cardiff Crown Court to deny a charge that they murdered her husband.
Maria Hopes, 46, and Leon Port, 23, were in the dock before Recorder of Cardiff Judge Eleri Rees on Wednesday.
They entered not guilty pleas to a charge of murdering Mark Hopes, 45, between October 1 and 4 last year.
Mr Hopes was found dead at a property in Brithweunydd Road, Trealaw, Rhondda , on Saturday, October 3.
Police had been called there around 7.30 am.
Port’s partner Rebecca Donovan, 24, who lives with him at Mount Pleasant Cottages inMountain Ash , pleaded guilty at the same hearing to attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Port and his mother, whose address was given as Brithweunydd Road, were remanded in custody while Donovan was granted bail on conditions which include a prohibition on entering Rhondda or contacting witnesses in the case.
Mother and son will face trial, before a jury, at Merthyr Crown Court on April 25.
The trial is expected to last three weeks.
Sentence will be passed on Donovan at the conclusion of that trial.
