Rescuers waded through thigh-deep snow in awful conditions to save two walkers stuck on a Snowdon track.
Volunteers from Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team (LMRT) were called by North Wales Police to assist the pair, who were stuck on the Pyg track yesterday afternoon.
The walkers had climbed the track but then found themselves unable to continue up or down due to the snowy conditions .
LMRT deployed eight team members to find the two walkers and bring them to the team vehicles below.
Team members experienced full winter conditions on Snowdon , with snow nearly thigh-deep in places and crampons required where the snow was wind-scoured or compacted by the passage of feet.
A spokesman for LMRT said: “If you are planning a mountain excursion in the coming weeks, please check the Met Office’s mountain weather forecast and pay particular attention to the Ground Conditions reports that are submitted by the Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri/ Snowdonia National Park Warden service.”
