Cardiff,South Wales - Burglars cut through metal bars and steal thousands of pounds worth of designer clothes in raid on Cardiff home

Men's clothing by Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana were taken in the targeted and carefully undertaken criminal operation

A gang of burglars staged a brazen early morning raid on a house in a plush Cardiff suburb by cutting through metal bars – before fleeing an hour later with thousands of pounds of designer clothes.
The raid, which netted men’s clothing made by the likes of Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana, was caught on CCTV showing Monday’s raid at the detached house on Cyncoed Road .
The victim – a businessman with a taste for high end fashion – has put up a £5,000 reward for any information that he hopes will lead to the conviction of the culprits.

'Organised operation'

The homeowner, who asked not to be named to protect his identity, said: “These people came fully armed and knew exactly what they were doing.
“It was strange because all they took was clothing and the CCTV sees them going back and forth.

“It was a very organised burglary and they seemed to know exactly what they were doing.”
The victim has lived at the property for 18 months but had been staying nearby with relatives for the night when neighbours alerted him to the break-in.

They told him a white van had been seen at the gated house, and the police were called.
To get into the garage – which also housed motorbikes – the burglars had to cut through metal bars. They managed the feat in a matter of minutes.

Designer brands

CCTV picked them up going to and from the home and it is thought they were there for around an hour.
Between three and six men can be seen on the images and the owner has released them in the hope the thieves can be caught.
