Jordan Victor Moran, 26, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm to PC Daniel Owen and has been remanded in custody

A man has appeared in court charged with assaulting a police officer who suffered a broken leg.
Jordan Victor Moran, 26, previously from Fairbourne, Gwynedd , but now of no fixed address, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm to PC Daniel Owen while resisting arrest after an incident at yr Eifl flats in Pwllheli on the afternoon of December 19 last year.
Moran is also charged with causing criminal damage to the rear interior of a police car.
Today he appeared via videolink from Altcourse prison for a preliminary hearing before Judge Geraint Walters at Caernarfon Crown Court.
Moran was remanded in custody after his last appearance before magistrates in Caernarfon on December 22.
Prosecutor Richard Edwards said police were called after reports of a disturbance at the flat.
Defending barrister Dafydd Roberts said a psychiatric assessment on Moran was due to be carried out today.
A plea and case management hearing will now be held on February 15 and Moran has been remanded in custody.
