The court heard the pre-Christmas theft was the 71st similar offence on her record, and was committed while she was subject to a previously imposed suspended sentence.
A report into the 31-year-old, of Osterley Street, Briton Ferry, said Jones has been sent to prison "many, many times before" but had been making good progress on probation in recent months, and "things were looking up for her".
The report said she had taken the items in order to sell them, and had been planning to use the cash to buy Christmas gifts for her family.
The court was told Jones had successfully come off heroin.
Magistrates activated 20 weeks of the existing suspended sentence and imposed an additional two weeks for the new offence, both sentences to run concurrently. They also ordered her to pay £85 towards prosecution costs.
