The bearded dragon also has part of his tail missing which the RSPCA said would have been extremely painful for him

A bearded dragon suffering from bone disease has been found “dumped like rubbish” in a shoebox in an alleyway.
RSPCA Cymru were called to the alleyway behind Farmfield Avenue in Port Talbot on Thursday.
RSPCA Inspector Gemma Cooper said: “This poor bearded dragon looks like he has been dumped like rubbish in a shoebox.
“Metabolic disease is a sure sign that the animal has not been cared for properly and it can be fatal.
“The bearded dragon also appears to be missing part of his tail which is usually a result of fighting with other dragons.
“This was likely to be extremely painful for him and is why they must be housed alone.
“He was inside a Sergio tacchini size 11 shoebox which would have had Geneva II grey/navy shoes inside.
“The bearded dragon has been taken to an exotics specialist where he will be examined by a vet but sadly his prognosis does not look good.”
They are appealing for anyone with information to call the RSPCA Inspectorate Appeal Line on 0300 123 8018.
