POLICE are appealing for help from the public after a lone female walking home in the early hours of the morning was approached by a man who touched her arms then ran away.
The 30-year-old woman was walking along Rugby Avenue in Neath at around 2am on January 1 when a man came up behind here and touched her - he then ran-off without speaking to her.
Police say the victim was not injured and no attempt was made to steal the handbag she was carrying.
Police have issued a description of a man they want to talk to - he is described as being aged between 16 and 20, and of a pale appearance. He was wearing a plum-coloured short puffer jacket which had fur edging on the hood. It is believed he had come from the Eastland Road direction

A South Wales Police spokesman said: "Police in Neath are appealing for witnesses to a suspicious incident where an unknown man has walked behind woman in Rugby Avenue at around 2am.
"The woman then describes the man touching her arms, then running off down a lane behind Rugby Avenue without saying anything.
"Anyone who saw this man in the area of Eastland Road, Cimla Road and Rugby Avenue at around 2am on New Year's Day is asked to contact police."
