Wrexham,Ruabon, North Wales- Former Wales manager Mark Hughes plagued by vandals tearing up his fields in cars

Former Wales manager Mark Hughes.

The former Manchester United, Barcelona, and Chelsea striker bought the land near his Welsh birth town to give youngsters somewhere to play.
But kind-hearted Stoke City boss Hughes - who also managed Wales, Manchester City and QPR - is having to pay for repairs caused by vandals to the sports fields in the small village of Ruabon, North Wales.
Thugs have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage by driving cars along the grass and tearing it up as well as burning rubbish on the land and dumping litter.

Hughes's brother-in-law Andy McCann co-owns the land - and is desperate for the vandalism to stop.
He said: "The damage on Sunday evening is going to cost around £10,000 to repair.
"Myself and Mark own the land and although we're happy to put money in, we can't keep repairing the damage caused by mindless thugs.
"We've had something to deal with here every eight to 12 weeks since we've had the land, and the police have had a lot of calls about it in the last 10 years.
"A large number of vehicles are being brought here and burned out. We're not just talking about tyre marks on the fields."
Hughes is estimated to have spent several thousand pounds buying and maintaining the land which is a sporting home for dozens of adults and around 200 children who play football and rugby at the site.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "We received a call reporting damage caused to the grounds.
"Enquiries are ongoing, and we would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact us."
