POLICE are appealing for information on a 31-year-old man who absconded from prison last night.
Lewis Thompson was serving an indeterminate sentence for attempted robbery when he failed to return to HMP Prescoed in Monmnouthshire at midnight on Monday.
Police say Thompson has links in the Avon and Somerset, Gloucester and South Wales Police areas, and are appealing for anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

He is described as being 5ft 10in tall and of with a heavy build, brown shaven hair.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "Anyone who might have seen him or has any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Gwent Police."
