Caernarfon,North Wales - Gwynedd web designer 'kicked partner to the head' in front of their traumatised daughter

Jose Nunes, 42, from Llanrug, carried out 'repeated acts of violence' against the woman

A web designer kicked his former partner’s head in a fit of rage in front of their traumatised daughter, a court heard.
Jose Nunes, 42, of Bryn Coch Terrace, Llanrug, Gwynedd, carried out the vicious attacks in November and January.
Prosecutor Diane Williams told Caernarfon magistrates court that Nunes had been in a relationship with the woman, who was not in court, for 15 years.
In a statement read to to the court by Ms Williams, the woman said Nunes attacked her in November following an argument.
“He had dragged me by the collar and pushed me to the floor and kicked me to the head with his right foot," she said.
"My daughter saw this and was traumatised.”
Ms Williams said the woman had asked Nunes to take her to hospital, but he refused because he knew they would be questioned about her injuries.
The prosecutor said Nunes had told the victim, who could not remember the date of the attack: “You deserve it.”
Nunes attacked the woman again on January 17 after taking their child to school.
There was another argument and Nunes had “punched” the woman in her left leg, Ms Williams said.
Later that day, she went to Women’s Aid in Bangor and the assaults were reported to the police.
The court also heard that Nunes pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman in 2011 - again when their daughter was present.
Nunes pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and was sentenced to 22 weeks custody suspended for 18 months.
Bench chairman Ffion Jones said: “These offences were in a domestic setting and one witnessed by your daughter. These were repeated acts of violence.”
Defending solicitor Alex Fitzgerald said Nunes had originally pleaded not guilty to three charges of common assault against his former partner, but had changed his plea to guilty to two, with the third not being entered.
Mr Fitzgerald said that, despite being a “very large man and strong”, he had found custody to be “very, very troubling and violent”.
Probation officer Miss Evans told the court that Nunes no longer wished to be in a relationship with his former partner but wants contact with their daughter.
She said he was a web designer and business consultant earning £500 a month but, when he worked, he could be earning “up to £1,000 a day”.
Despite the assault, Miss Evans said Nunes also blamed the victim and did not fully take responsibility.
She said he was at medium risk of reoffending but needed a lot of work to help him with relationships.
Miss Evans said the victim hopes Nunes moves on with his life and hopes he “respects others far more than he has shown to her”.
Nunes was ordered by magistrates to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work, complete 35 sessions on how to have better relationships, and pay £100 compensation as well as court costs.
He was handed an indefinite restraining order banning him from contacting his former partner other than through a solicitor or court official.
