POLICE are investigating after a serious assault in the early hours of this morning in Llanelli.
The incident took place in Nelson Terrace at 4am, and has resulted in a man being hospitalised.
Dyfed-Powys Police say a 39-year-old woman is in police custody assisting officers with inquiries.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Llanelli CID are investigating a serious assault that occurred in the Nelson Terrace area of Llanelli at approximately 4am this morning, Thursday November 10 2016.
"The male victim is currently in hospital in a stable condition.
"A 39-year-old female is in Police Custody assisting with inquiries."
Llanelli CID are appealing for anyone who may have heard or seen anything in the Nelson Terrace area at around 4am, to come forward with any information.
