The alleged incident is said to have taken place in a Tesco store in Caernarfon
A female teacher at a special school has been suspended for allegedly striking a pupil in a supermarket.
Is it understood the teacher was said to have hit child from Ysgol Pendalar, Caernarfon , in the town’s Tesco supermarket last week.
Gwynedd Council and North Wales Police have launched a joint investigation in to the complaint.
In the meantime the teacher has been suspended until the probe is complete.
North Wales Police have confirmed they are “currently investigating a complaint against a female teacher.”
A Gwynedd Council spokesman said: “We can confirm a member of the authority’s school staff has been suspended from their post pending the completion of a joint investigation with North Wales Police.
“We will not be making any further comment whilst the investigation is on-going.”
Tesco have been approached for a comment.
