A TEENAGE rugby player knocked a woman unconscious in an unprovoked attack.
The victim was left with a badly bruised face after Joshua Jones lost his temper and assaulted four people in a matter of minutes on June 19.
Llanelli Magistrates Court heard that two men were sitting in a car in the Co-op car park in Llanelli when an inebriated Jones started punching them through the car windows.
The 18-year-old then asked a man and a woman standing nearby "what the f*** are you looking at?" prosecutor Lisa Jones said.
The male said in a statement: "She stepped in front of me and he punched her to the side of the head. She fell into my arms. He then punched me and made my nose bleed."
The male victim called an ambulance for the unconscious woman, who reported having frequent headaches following the attack.
Probation spoke on behalf of Jones, saying he was a "shy and introverted individual" who got out of control because of an "excess of alcohol".
He added: "The seriousness of the offence is not lost on him, his remorse is palpable. He told me 'it has changed my life, it will always be with me'."
Jones, of Millfield Road, Felinfoel, pleaded guilty to four counts of assault by beating.
Laura Sherwood, defending, said Jones had not come before the court before: "And this is someone who I can't imagine will come before the court again."
Magistrates opted to take the probation service's recommendations and imposed a 12 month community order, as well as £645 in fines, costs and compensation.
Justice Alan Bowen said: "It's clear you regret the incident and I'm sure this will stay with you for some time."
