The body of a man has been found in the River Taff in Cardiff, police have confirmed.
South Wales Police officers are currently at a stretch of the river near the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff where at approximately 5.30pm the body was found by a member of the public.
Police had earlier cordoned off the area with blue and white police tape mounted on traffic cones in place next to the river at Pontcanna Fields.
Investigation underway
The body is being recovered from the river and an investigation is underway to establish the identity of the man and also the circumstances surrounding the incident and how he died.
Police said at this stage it is unexplained.
An eyewitness earlier said there were six police officers at the scene at around 6.15pm.
There was also a police car at the location.
