The charity has hit out after Adrian David Saunders was handed a three-year community order following the assault in a hotel bar

A child protection charity has slammed the sentence given to a paedophile who groped a nine-year-old girl days just days after walking free from court for possessing child porn.
Adrian David Saunders of Ffordd Garnedd, Y Felinheli assaulted the little girl in a hotel barthree days after he was convicted of possessing 800 sick images of children.
After being handed a three-year community order on November 30 , Saunders, was caught by CCTV on December 3 checking over his shoulder several times before rubbing the bottom of a girl.
However Saunders was able to walk free from court again on Tuesday when Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins decided to give the 34-year-old paedophile another three-year community order.
The victim’s mum, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was outraged that Saunders was not jailed and her concerns were echoed by NSPCC Cymru.
A spokesman for the charity said: “We are very concerned that a man who was caught with more than 800 indecent images of children was allowed to walk free from court and sexually assault a young girl just three days later.
“If his original case had been dealt with in a different way this assault may not have taken place.
“It’s perfectly understandable that the victim’s mother is extremely upset and we would urge the authorities to ensure the offender is strictly monitored so he cannot repeat this distressing crime.”
The Daily Post contacted Police & Crime Commissioner Winston Roddick to comment on Saunders’ sentence but he declined to comment.
North Wales Police and the Crown Prosecution Service also declined to comment.
Saunders, an Army veteran, had his computer seized by police in July 2013.
They found 29 images in category A, the worst category, 10 in category B, and 761 in category C.
The majority of the images were of girls aged between seven and 14.
John Wyn Williams, defending, said Saunders had admitted the offence at the earliest opportunity and “knew that he required structured and significant help”.
