Two people were taken to hospital with stab wounds after a New Year’s Eve incident in Blaenavon , Torfaen .
Police were called to a disturbance on the town’s Ivor Street at about 11.10pm.
Superintendent Jo Bull said: “Two people received stab wounds that were not life threatening.”
An investigation is under way but police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
Gwent Police said both victims are in a stable condition.
A man has been arrested and remains in police custody.
Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to come forward and call them on its 101 non-emergency line quoting reference 428 21/12/15.
