A HORSE owner is warning other owners in Carmarthenshire after one of her young colts was found brutally mutilated at her home.
Cisco, a 19-month-old colt, was last week discovered dead at the family's home in the outskirts of Carmarthen, with such horrific injuries that owner Tracey Catto believes it could be a deliberate act of a cult.
Dyfed-Powys Police are investigating the death of the horse, which they are treating as "suspicious".
"Whoever has done this has to be sick in the head," said Mrs Catto.

"Personally I think it is to do with cults because he was killed under the full moon.
"I'm not 100 per cent sure, but I think it's some sort of ritual."
Mrs Catto's daughter Claire and her boyfriend made the grim discovery on Monday, December 28, finding that Cisco's sheath, testicles, rectum, and eyes were missing, and his belly sliced open.

"There's no words for it," added Mrs Catto. "It was absolutely awful."
The family has 14 horses at its stables, which they use for riding and taking to shows.
Cisco was one of the brothers, but when Claire and her boyfriend visited the field that Sunday, they could see only two of the colts — Cisco was later found dead, slumped by a fence.
"Nothing like this has ever happen to us before," said Mrs Catto.
A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Police are investigating after the body of a horse was found mutilated in a field in the Carmarthen area.
"The incident is being treated as suspicious.
"The horse was last seen alive at 5pm on Sunday, December 27."

Hoping to warn other horse owners, Mrs Catto said: "If there's some mad idiot person going about I would urge people to keep their horses safe.
"If this had happened to anybody else I would want to know to keep our horses safe."
Anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Carmarthen police on 101.
