Swansea,South Wales - Police arrest 38 and seize drugs during raids as part of 24-hour operation

Police arrested 38 people and seized drugs from a number of addresses during a day-long police operation across the Swansea area.
Officers forced their way into five properties to search for drugs and arrested wanted suspects for drug-related offences.
They were carried out in the Penlan and Townhill areas of Swansea and in Port Talbot.
Police also managed to arrest 'priority' suspects who were wanted in connection with offences including assault, harassment, theft and public order.
The first raid as part of an operation called Eagle Quartz was carried out at 7am and the rest were carried out throughout the rest of the day.
South Wales Police officers and PCSOs were involved in the operation including neighbourhood policing officers, specialist search teams, police dogs and dog handlers, Operational Territorial Support Teams, Special Constabulary and crime prevention officers.
Acting Inspector Elaine Davies said: “The operation was about sending a message that we will pursue those involved in criminal activity and act on the information the public gives us.
"The public are our eyes and ears and are essential partners in the fight against all kinds of crime. Operations such as this one enhance our abilities to act upon the different concerns of local communities.”
In addition, officers involved in the operation also carried out high visibility patrols in priority areas.

A similar operation in July saw 25 people arrested for a range of offences including domestic violence, theft, drugs, and skipping bail
