Llandudno,North Wales - Woman sexually assaulted at seaside resort

Rhos on Sea could hardly be described as a Seaside Resort, It's just Reams and Reams of Flats by the Sea!
Police are investigating a report of a sexual assault near a promenade at a Welsh seaside resort.
North Wales Police received a report of a sexual assault in Rhos-on-Sea, near Colwyn Bay , in the early hours of Tuesday.
The force confirmed they were investigating after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted at Cayley Promenade between 2.15am and 3.50am.
Police are now appealing for information about a vehicle they believe the woman got into at some point between Glanrafon Avenue, at the Llandudno side of the Little Orme, and Rhos-on-Sea.

Vehicle search

Police said it is understood the woman got into a dark coloured vehicle, similar to a black taxi cab or MPV, on Cayley Promenade.
Officers are investigating whether the vehicle was a legitimate taxi and are appealing for witnesses who may have seen similar vehicles in the area at the time to contact them.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Williams said: “The circumstances are currently subject of full investigation by detectives from Colwyn Bay, which includes witnesses’ interviews, forensic enquiries and CCTV examination.
“As to whether the vehicle was a legitimate taxi or not is still very much subject of investigation and currently we cannot draw any firm conclusions in this regard.

'Take precautions'

“We would remind the public to take the usual precautions when accepting lifts or getting into taxis. People should ensure that they are accompanied by friends, particularly if they have been drinking.
“They should also satisfy themselves that taxis and private hire vehicles are legitimate and driven by licensed drivers. We are supporting the family at what is understandably a very difficult and distressing time for them.”
