A MAN charged with unlawful killing following the death of former rugby player Jonny Thomas in Swansea city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning has been remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance later this month.
Daniel Jason Shepherd, of Drummau Park, Skewen, appeared before Swansea magistrates this morning following the death of Mr Thomas following an alleged incident on Princess Way. The 34-year-old died shortly after being taken to Morriston Hospital.
Shepherd, aged 23, was arrested following Mr Thomas' death and appeared from custody at court, which was packed with friends and family of both his, and Mr Thomas.
In applying for bail ahead of a crown court appearance on November 13, Dan Heard representing Shepherd, told the court that he runs a commercial laundry business with his parents.
