A nine-year-old boy has told a court he was raped by a teenager who threatened to cut his throat if he didn’t do as he asked.
In an interview shown at Prestatyn youth court the boy said he was too scared to run away from the 13-year-old because he knew he would be caught.
The court heard that the incident occurred alongside the river in St Asaph in September last year, when the nine-year-old and his older brother met the 13-year-old who had been fishing.
The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, said the defendant asked if they wanted to play “Dirty Dare”.
They agreed, but did not know what it meant, and the boy was then sexually assaulted, the court heard.

Asked by the interviewing police officer how he felt at the time of the assault, the boy said he was in pain and told him to stop.
“He said if I didn’t do it he would slit my throat,” he said.
Prosecutor Anna Pope said the victim, who reported the incident to his mother that evening, sustained some injuries which appeared to confirm that rape had occurred.

The 13-year-old from the Rhyl area has admitted rape but denied having threatened to cut the boy’s throat.
He has, however, pleaded not guilty to two charges of inciting the two boys under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The trial continues and is expected to finish today.
