Swansea,South Wales - Govinda's Vegetarian Café and Krishna temple smashed up by thieves

STAFF at a Swansea temple and café have been left devastated after it was "smashed up" and money taken from tills and donation boxes along with priceless jewellery.
Govinda's Vegetarian Café in the city centre was targeted sometime between 10pm on Thursday night and 7am yesterday morning.
The building on Cradock Street houses both a vegetarian restaurant and temple for the Krishna faith.
Staff have been left devastated by the incident with member Kirsty Roberts saying it was "extremely upsetting".

She said: "The office window has been pushed out and the inner window has been smashed.

"The office has been completely ransacked and the safe has been ripped out.
"Cash has been taken and the donation box is empty."
However staff were left even more shocked upon discovering the damage to their temple room, which features an elaborate altar and prayer space.
Miss Roberts added: "They have gone onto the altar and stolen jewellery from India which we brought back. They have also smashed a hole through the roof.
"I'm pregnant and this horrible incident has added unnecessary stress.
"The thing we were most worried about was the temple room being smashed up.
"Even though there isn't anything really of value in there, it's priceless to us."
South Wales Police officers were in attendance at the restaurant yesterday morning.
A spokesman said: "Police are investigating a commercial burglary at a premises in Cradock Street, Swansea, which happened sometime between 10pm on Thursday and 7.50am on Friday."
