North and South wales - The 10 pubs and clubs in Wales with a zero hygiene rating

Pubs and clubs in Wales with a zero hygiene rating
Food hygiene inspections are carried out in pubs, bars and clubs regularly by local authorities

The Smiths Arms on Samlet Road in Swansea and the Savoy Social Club in Barry are among the places with a score of zero

Nearly 250 pubs and clubs in Wales have been warned to improve their food hygiene standards.
As many as 114 of these were given a score of one out of five while 11 received the lowest possible score of zero at its last inspection.
Food hygiene inspections are carried out in pubs, bars and clubs regularly by local authorities across the UK. Following an inspection each establishment is given a score ranging from zero to five which is made publicly available by the Food Standards Agency.
A score of two signifies that improvement is necessary in the way the pub, bar or club stores and processes its food while a score of one signifies that major improvement is needed and a zero signifies urgent improvements need to be undertaken.
Among the 10 establishments to be given a score of zero were the Smiths Arms on Samlet Road in Swansea and the Savoy Social Club in Barry .
Across the whole of the England, Wales and Northern Ireland 3,009 pubs and clubs received a food hygiene score lower than three at their last inspection according to figures accessed on the Food Standards Agency's website on November 20.
As many as 1,337 of these venues received scores of one out of five, while 116 received the lowest possible score of zero out of five.
All these ratings were taken from the FSA's website as they appeared on the morning of Friday, November 20 2015. The establishments in question may be awaiting re-inspection, having made the necessary improvements since they were inspected.
