Police statement
Police are appealing for information following a robbery at the Clifton House Newsagents in Llandudno this morning.
The robbery happened at 10.57am today when a lone male entered the shop on Mostyn Street and threatened the shop assistant before making off with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.
The man who was wearing dark clothing left the shop on foot.
Inspector Kelly Isaacs said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident or who may be offered Mayfair King Size cigarettes and Golden Virginia tobacco for sale to contact police.”
The shop assistant was left shocked by the incident.
Anyone with information relating to the incident is asked to call Llandudno Police Station on 101 quoting reference V029041. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Warning if offered stolen cigarettes
Police are urging anyone who offered cheap cigarettes or tobacco that could have been taken in the robbery to report it to them on 101.

Lone female shop worker targeted
Police say there was just one woman working in the shop at the time of the robbery. The male robber entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes. The woman was not hurt during the incident we’re told.

Police tell us that the man ran off from the shop with the goods. Police dogs have been called in to pick up his scent to try to track him down.

The ambulance service say that they have not been called to the incident so it appears nobody has been hurt.

No indication if anyone has been hurt
It’s not clear at this stage if anybody has been hurt during the robbery. We are awaiting an update from the Welsh Ambulance Service to see if they are in attendance.

Taking a quick look at traffic maps in the area it appears Mostyn Street is very congested at the moment. It’s not clear if the traffic problems are related to the robbery at this stage.
