Llandudno,North Wales - Yet another Armed Robbery!

Llandudno will soon be the "Queen Of Armed Robbery" the way things are going!
A terrified mum was threatened at knifepoint during a robbery in Llandudno this morning.
The woman, who was working alone at the Clifton House newsagent in Upper Mostyn Street, was approached by a man at about 10.57am.
An unknown quantity of cash, tobacco and cigarettes was taken from the shop by the man, who was described as in his 20s and of slim build and was wearing dark clothes.
Shop owner Elaine Pritchard, whose daughter was working in the shop, told the Daily Post she’d received a distressed call from her immediately after the robbery.
“My daughter was hysterical when she told me,” she said.
“She’s very traumatised and is currently making a statement to the police.
“I’ve never known anything like this to happen before.
“This man forced her to open the till after showing her that he had a knife in his pocket and demanded the cash and cigarettes.
“He was wearing dark clothes and had his hood up.
“I’m just sorry this horrible incident has happened to my daughter.”

Mrs Pritchard, who has owned the shop for 13 years, added: “My daughter said he seemed to be quite selective with what cigarettes he took.
“Luckily, there were no other customers in the shop at the time.
“We know most of our customers. You just don’t expect this sort of thing to happen in Llandudno . I just hope the CCTV will come up with something.”
Inspector Kelly Isaacs of North Wales Police said: “Crimes of this type are extremely unusual, especially at commercial premises.
“In West Conwy, there have been two armed robberies at commercial premises during the past 12 months.
“CID and forensics are investigating, and CCTV footage is included in a number of lines of enquiry we are pursuing.

“A number of packets of Golden Virginia tobacco has been stolen and Mayfair cigarettes, and they could be sold within the local community.
“If anyone has any information, I’d be grateful if they could contact North Wales Police or Crimestoppers.”
Mary Borland, who arrived at the shop for her daily paper after the robbery, said: “I’m so shocked by what has happened.
“I feel so sorry for Elaine’s daughter as she’s only just had a baby.
“It’s cowardly doing this to a woman who is alone in the shop.”
