Nature of incident unknown

At this stage details about the incident are quite scarce. North Wales Police have not been able to confirm details to me at the moment but have said that a statement will be released shortly.

Reports of an arrest being made

A witness at the scene tells us that they have witnessed what looked like an arrest being made. We’ll get this confirmed by police.

Cordon being lifted

We’re told that the cordon that was put in place around the incident has now been lifted and police are packing up.

Just spoken to North Wales Police regarding this incident. They tell me that they will release a statement shortly on the matter.

Eye-witness reports four officers with guns at the scene

A witness has just told me that there are six police vehicles at the scene and four officers with guns.
She said: “I was just driving along and came across all these police vehicles. There were four police cars with their lights flashing and two cops with guns on the side of the road. I kept driving and there were another two police cars and two more officers with guns standing there. There is also a lot of people watching what is happening.”

Police blocking street in Abergele

Also reports coming in that police have blocked off Chapel Street in Abergele - it’s unknown if the incidents are related.

Concern from councillor

Old Colwyn Councillor Brian Cossey has got in touch about the incident.
He said: “I hope everyone will be ok and the police will deal with the matters satisfactorily and safely.”

Police incident

There is an ongoing police incident in Old Colwyn.
Witnesses report that there are several police vehicles and armed police on Llysfaen Road.
Sniffer dogs have also been seen at the scene.
