A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after police were called to reports of an assault at a property in Merthyr Tydfil .
A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after officers from South Wales Police were called to a property in Dowlais, just after 10am on Tuesday.
A police spokesman said the 35-year-old man has been taken to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff .
The spokesman said: “A 45-year-old man from the Penydarren area has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and has been taken to Cardiff Bay police station where he is being questioned by officers.”
