A man admitted trying to groom an underage girl after being caught in a police honey trap.
David John Owen, 35, of Heol Orsaf, Johnstown, began chatting to a 13-year-old girl online before sending her a picture of his genitalia.
He then tried to persuade the girl to send “sexy pictures” of herself and her mother in return.
But the pervert did not realise that the teenager was an undercover police officer and he was later arrested for two offences which took place between September and November last year.
Appearing at Wrexham Magistrates Court, Owen pleaded guilty to two offences of attempting to incite a girl aged 13-15 into sexual activity.
Ian Barnes, defending, said his client had no previous convictions and had entered guilty pleas at the earliest opportunity.
Owen was released on bail under the condition that he lives at an address on Bethania Road, Acrefair, Wrexham and does not live in the same household as a child. He will also have to register as a sex offender.
Owen will be sentenced at Mold Crown Court on April 6.
