Anglesey,North Wales - A man claims he can't remember taking 30 photos of sleeping woman

Daniel Joseph Reilly, 58, of Moreton Road, Holyhead, denies sexual assault and voyeurism and says he wanted to take a picture 'for a bit of a laugh'

A man who took 30 pictures of a sleeping woman said he could neither remember taking so many nor explain why they were taken over a 17-minute period.
Daniel Joseph Reilly, who is accused of touching the woman inappropriately as well as photographing her, told Caernarfon Crown Court he wanted to “take a picture of her bum for a bit of a laugh”.
The 58-year-old, who denies charges of sexual assault and voyeurism, accepts he took 30 pictures on his phone on the morning of April 17 last year, but said he had no recollection of taking so many.
Reilly, of Moreton Road, Holyhead, said he did not recall why the photos were taken over a 17-minute period or why there was an interval of up to six minutes between some of them being taken.
Giving evidence, he claimed he had taken the photographs as a prank and had intended to show them to the woman.
He told defence barrister Kim Halsall: “I thought I would take a picture of her bum for a bit of a laugh.”
Reilly said he had drunk a considerable amount of alcohol after arriving back in Holyhead from Bangor.
He said he had received no sexual gratification from the photos.
Cross examined by prosecutor David Mainstone, he said he had not asked the woman’s consent to take the photographs.
“Was it your intent to take photos when she was not awake because you knew she would not consent?” the prosecutor asked.
Reilly said: “It was not like that.”
He told Mr Mainstone he may have accidentally touched the woman as he lifted the quilt off her legs.
During the trial, the jury heard that Reilly had known the woman for a number of years and had agreed to give her and a female friend a lift from Bangor to Holyhead after they missed the last train home on a night out.
After arriving at Holyhead, they had continued drinking before falling asleep.
It was after the woman fell asleep that Reilly is alleged to have taken the photos and touched the woman inappropriately.
The jury heard Reilly also had a photo on his phone from 2012 which showed the woman asleep and was taken without her knowledge.
The jury has started its deliberations, which will continue on Wednesday.
