Believed to be in the Wrexham area

“I believe Jordan Davidson is somewhere in the Wrexham area and the key to locating him is information from the public.
“Mr Churton lived alone at the property and was partially disabled. He was indeed a vulnerable man.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by Family Liaison Officers.
“I can confirm that recent operations in Vernon Street, Wrexham and in Old Colwyn are connected to the investigation.”

What detectives are saying...

Det Supt Iestyn Davies, who is leading the investigation said; “Mr Churton’s body was discovered on Monday morning and I am eager to hear from anyone who was in that area from the afternoon of Thursday March 23.
“It is my belief that Mr Churton was killed sometime between 2.45pm on Thursday and midnight on Friday March 24.
“A post-mortem has confirmed Mr Churton died of significant head trauma. Further details will be released in due course.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have information which could assist our investigation to come forward. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who heard or witnessed a disturbance in Crescent Close or who may have seen Mr Davidson between 2.30pm on Thursday March 23 and yesterday morning March 27.”

Mum shocked by raid in Old Colwyn

A mum of two who lives next door to the now boarded up house in Llysfaen road said she received a call from her mother, who was looking after her two children.
The woman who doesn’t wish to be named said:
“I was in Liverpool seeing my dad, when my mum called at around 6pm-she was in tears.
“She told me there were police everywhere outside our house, and when she looked out of the window a policewoman shouted at her to stay away from the window and to sit down.
“So she sat down and closed the curtains, not having a clue what was going on.
“She was panicking because of her grandchildren. And then she saw two hands coming over our gate to try and open it and a police officer appeared with a massive gun in our garden.”

Quiet at the three scenes

Police remain at all three locations involved in the investigation - Crescent Close, Wrexham, Vernon Street, Wrexham and Llysfaen Road, Old Colwyn. But there is not much going on - at the moment.

Update from North Wales Police

I have asked North Wales Police if there have been any arrests in connection with the investigation. I am waiting to hear back from them.

Terrified witnesses in Old Colwyn

My colleague Mari Jones has been in Old Colwyn this morning, speaking to neighbours.
One said:
“My two-year-old son saw him and was hysterical, he was terrified.
“She then heard the police shout: “Open the door. Armed officers!”
She added: “I really think one of the police officers should have knocked on the door to reassure my mum and the kids, as it’s not normal to see an armed officer in your back garden training the gun at our neighbour’s house.”
