Another vehicle has been torched in a town currently plagued with a spate of arson attacks on vehicles.
Police were called to Tanat Way on Wrexham ’s Caia Estate shortly before midnight last night.
One fire engine from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service tackled the fire.
A spokeswoman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “One car was alight and one appliance from Wrexham attended. It was a deliberate ignition.”
The incident comes after a police car was set alight at Queensway on the estate on Friday morning.
Local resident Barry Phillips, who lives near where the police car was ignited , said: “It was just before 9.30am and I heard a loud bang outside.
“I looked outside and just up the road there was a police car with its wheel on fire and it quickly spread.
“Police and the fire service turned up pretty quickly after and they have now put the fire out.
“I don’t know what has caused it and didn’t see anybody milling about nearby.”
In August a Subaru was targeted after an orgy of car vandalism around Caia Park and Bron y Dre.
Thirteen cars had tyres slashed and the Subaru was set alight on Gwefron, on the estate.
On Friday 38 year-old local man Alan Lloyd Paul Evans appeared at Wrexham Magistrates’ court charged with torching seven cars in the Hightown area, on October 24.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Mold Crown Court this coming Friday.
