Two masked men armed with a hammer stole cash in a raid on a shop.
The men, who were both wearing balaclavas, threatened a member of staff at Vale Stores on Chester Avenue, Kinmel Bay, before leaving on foot with a quantity of cash. No one was hurt during the incident
One man is described as being of large build. He was wearing gloves and a hooded top.
The second is described as being of slimmer build and was again wearing gloves and a hooded top.
DI Michael Isaacs said of the robbery, which happened on Sunday at around 5.30pm: “Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.”
Kinmel Bay councillor Dr Stuart Anderson said: “This is a very unpleasant incient and a very shocking one, I really feel for the staff involved.
“This sort of violent behaviour is very upsetting for people and I hope the culprits will be quickly identified.
“The Vale Stores is a popular shop and part of the community, this sort of thing affects community cohesion.”
