Police on Dalton Road in Sandfields
A DATE has been set for the trial of the man accused of murdering Neath dad Marcus Sheppard.
Nicholas John Sloots, aged 33, of Sable Avenue, Sandfields, Port Talbot, spoke only to confirm his name during a brief hearing at Swansea Crown Court, and a provisional trial date of July 3 was set down.
Mr Sheppard died following an incident in Dalton Road, Sandfields, in the early hours of Monday morning — the 37-year-old suffered stab wounds to his neck, throat, and chest, with the final one proving fatal.
Sloots was further remanded into custody, and will appear again for a plea and trail preparation hearing on Tuesday, May 30.
