Colwyn Bay,North Wales - Old Colwyn murder accused pleads not guilty

Dean Cody, 30, is alleged to have murdered David Kingsbury on January 5, while four other people are charged with assisting an offender

A man charged with murder pleaded not guilty when he appeared at a plea hearing at Mold Crown Court this afternoon.
Dean Cody, 30, of no fixed abode, is charged with murdering David Kingsbury, 35, at Old Colwyn on January 5.
He denied the charge and was remanded in custody pending his trial, which is due to start on June 26.
Four others denied assisting an offender and their cases were adjourned to be tried with Cody.

They are Colin Lyness, 30, of Minafon, Llanelian Road, Old Colwyn; Thomas Charles Revatto, 50, of Rhiw Road, Colwyn Bay; Cody’s father Stephen Cody, 53, of Queen’s Park, Colwyn Bay, and Suzanah Buckley, 40, formerly of Belgrave Road in Colwyn Bay.
All were remanded in custody by Mr Justice Lewis, apart from Buckley who was bailed on condition that she does not contact prosecution witnesses.
She is not to enter North Wales apart from attending court or pre-arranged appointments with her lawyers.
An application for bail on behalf of Cody senior was rejected today.
The trial was expected to go into a second week, said prosecuting barrister John Philpotts.
According to a Home Office pathologist, Mr Kingsbury, of Old Colwyn, died from a single stab wound.
