Shane Michael Roberts, 33, of Lime Grove, Buckley had denied launching the terrifying attack on the girls
A man who barged into a house late at night and sexually assaulted two teenage girls has been jailed for four years.
Shane Michael Roberts, of Lime Grove, Buckley, had denied charges of trespassing with intent to commit a sexual offence and sexually assaulting the two girls but was found guilty after a trial at Caernarfon Crown Court .
The 33-year-old told the jury he was “very drunk” and had snorted cocaine before the incident on November 19 last year.
He claimed that he had been invited in the house and that one of the girls had been “flirtatious”.
Jailing him Judge Huw Rees said the experience was frightening for the girls.
“It is one that should never have happened,” he said.
Adding the jury had quite rightly found Roberts guilty the judge ordered him to observe an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
The judge ordered Roberts’ to remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Matthew Curtis, prosecuting, said Roberts “forced his way” into the house and touched the girls sexually without their consent.
The father of one of the girls had gone to a nearby supermarket and received a phone call from his “hysterical” daughter.
Mr Curtis told the jury the defendant may have seen the girl’s father leave the house.
“When he left the address the girls heard a knock on the front door shortly afterwards,” the barrister said. They were allegedly pushed onto a sofa by Roberts.
Police examined Roberts’s mobile phone which contained messages and conversations with other people “of a sexualised nature” just a few hours before the incident in the house.
Mr Curtis added: “They have a particular relevance. They were apparently sent to females by the defendant in the hours leading up to the trespass and assault.”
The laywer said the messages showed Roberts “wasn’t as out of it” as he claimed.
“If anything the drink he had consumed would appear to have increased his sexual appetite and lowered his inhibitions,” he said.
Questioned by his barrister Brian Treadwell, Roberts disputed he had carried out a sex act in front of one of the girls .
When quizzed about what happened, he had told police officers he was “absolutely paralytic” and ”I can’t remember.”
