Arsonists destroyed a row of sheds surrounded by residential properties.
Residents have expressed their shock after firebugs set the sheds alight on land near Warren Drive in Broughton.
Three sheds were badly damaged in the blaze, which also spread to garden fences adjoining them.
One resident, whose garden fence was destroyed in the blaze last Wednesday night, said it was “terrifying”.
She said: “An ambulance was passing by and saw the flames behind our houses – we were in the front of the house so would not have seen them.
“They stopped and knocked on our doors and got us out of our houses and phoned for the fire brigade to come.
”It took the fire brigade two hours to put our the fire.”
The resident, who did not wish to be named, added that one of the garages has had to be pulled down as a result of the inferno.
She said: “It was really worrying and the flames were huge.
”There was a gas canister right next to it so if that would have gone up we would have all been done for.
“The sheds are used by people who rent them off the council and they are normally full of all sorts of stuff.”
Remains from the sheds were still smoking the day after the blaze – with the contents of all destroyed.
A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the crew was sent out at around 8pm.
She said: “One crew from Deeside attended the fire.
”The fire spread from one shed to a couple of others.
”The fire is being treated as deliberate.”
North Wales Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the blaze.
Anyone with information is asked to contact them on 101, quoting reference number V001804.
