Warwick Abbott, 55, of King’s Mount in Prenton, Merseyside, filmed the sexual abuse he carried out against young children in Flintshire
A monster who filmed the sexual abuse he carried out against young children in Flintshire has been jailed for 15 years.
Mold Crown Court heard Warwick Abbott had changed his victims’ lives for good.
One told how at one stage she wanted to die, and believed he could no longer hurt her if she was “six foot under”.
Abbott, 55, of King’s Mount in Prenton, Merseyside, had on two occasions filmed what he was doing.
He also made one victim watch adult porn.
The defendant admitted a total of 10 charges of indecent assault, assault on a child by penetration, rape, and causing a child to look at an image of a person engaged in a sex act.
Judge Huw Rees told him he was a danger to young girls and warned that he would only be released when the Parole Board was satisfied it was safe to do so.
He extended his licence by 12 months following his release, which formally makes it a 16-year sentence.
The judge warned that, if he had put his victims through the ordeal of giving evidence and had been convicted after trial, he would have received a 23-year sentence.
Abbott was ordered to register with the police as a sex offender for life.
An indefinite sexual harm prevention order was also made.
Judge Rees told him: “It may well be likely that you will have to serve two thirds if not the total sentence.
“You will not be released until you satisfy the parole board that you no longer pose a threat to children, in particular to young children.”
He would be regarded as an offender “of particular concern”, said the judge.
The 15-year prison sentence was needed “so that children will be protected from your unhealthy attention”, he said.
Prosecuting barrister Andrew Green said one victim told how she screamed and told him to stop but he did not.
Another victim told how he blindfolded her and told her to relax.
The victims, now young women, reported the matter in October of last year and, when arrested, Abbott admitted what he had done.
One of the victims had seen the defendant, who had asked for forgiveness and said he wanted to kill himself over what he had done.
In court today, one victim read her own victim impact statement from behind a screen.
She told how she was still frightened of going to sleep as what Abbott had done still haunted her.
The victim described how, at the time, she felt as if she was trapped in a dark room and could not get out.
“I cannot get away from it,” she said.
“It has driven me insane. I have considered suicide.
“I thought if I was six foot under he could no longer hurt me.
“It will never leave me.”
Defending barrister Mark Connor said that Abbott knew he was going to receive substantial imprisonment and would undertake a sexual offender’s treatment course in custody to try and rehabilitate himself.
“That will be of little comfort to his victims who will have a lifetime of dealing with the harm he has caused,” he said.

I hope this lowlife will rot in jail, and that his jail mates find out just how low this monster is. Then glue his soap to the floor.
