Cardiff,South Wales - Police hunt for suspect after two men attacked with a knife in the street

Officers said two men were assaulted with what is believed to be a knife on Cowbridge Road East in Cardiff

Police are hunting for a suspect who fled the scene after two men were seriously attacked in the street on Saturday night.
Two men received serious injuries after they were attacked on Cowbridge Road East in Canton at around 9pm outside the Tesco store next to the Ivor Davies pub.
South Wales Police spokesman said the two men were assaulted with what is believed to be a knife during a disturbance involving a group of men.
Two men from Cardiff aged 22 and 23 were taken to the University Hospital of Wales with serious but not life threatening injuries to their torsos.

Officers are now looking for a suspect described as being a short black male, around 5ft 5, wearing a dark hoody and dark trousers, who later made off from the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Jason Redrup said: “We have launched an investigation and are currently searching for the suspect.
"The two male victims are very lucky that their injuries were not more serious due to their location on the body.
"It is important that we find the suspect and I am urging anybody with information about what happened or who is responsible to contact us."

The Welsh Ambulance Service attended the scene with two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle at around 9.10pm on January 21.
