Mold,North Wales - Teenager locked up for sex with under-age girl

Reece Charles Wynne, 19, of Alltami Road, Mold, was given a 28-month sentence of youth detention

A man who had sex with an under-aged girl has received a 28-month sentence of youth detention.
Reece Charles Wynne, 19, is currently serving a 30-month sentence imposed in October 2015 for robbery, after he met a man for a sexual liaison via the Grindr app.
Wynne, of Alltami Road, Mold, admitted four offences of engaging in sexual activity involving intercourse with the teenage girl and inciting such activity.
Wynne must register with the police as a sex offender for 10 years.
A 10-year sexual harm prevention order was made.
Judge Rhys Rowlands, sitting at Mold Crown Court, ruled that the 28-month sentence should be served concurrently to the robbery sentence.
Prosecuting barrister Philip Clemo said the girl told him she was ready for a sexual relationship. He asked if she was sure and she said she was.
Sometimes he would want it three times a day or he would get moody. At that stage she felt pressurised but not forced.
There was the frequent use of alcohol, legal highs and cannabis.
Arrested and interviewed, Wynne said he had not asked her for the images of her found on his phone and denied sending her any such images of himself. At that stage he denied having sex and said they would just kiss and cuddle.
Highly sexualised messages were then found on his phone which indicated what was going on.
The court heard that, in October 2015, he arranged to meet an older man via the Grindr website and went to his home address where they engaged in sexual activity.
On the way back home in the car, he robbed the man of a phone and cash using a bottle as a weapon.
Defending barrister Andrew Green asked the court to take the delays into account. It was appreciated it had to be custody but his guilty pleas had spared the girl the ordeal of a trial.
There was no excuse for his behaviour but he was immature.
His early life had been sad and chaotic, but his adopted parents brought him a structured life and references described him as friendly, polite, helpful, well motivated and capable.
He went on work experience at a local veterinary practice in 2012, but the vet he was being mentored by and with whom he had a close bond was murdered, which affected him badly.
That had been a devastating event for him, everything turned upside down, and a young man with real potential turned to drugs and alcohol and found himself within the criminal justice system. He was motivated to change.
Judge Rowlands said that the delays in bringing the case involving the under-aged girl to court were “simply inexplicable”.
At the time of the robbery, he was on bail for the offence against the girl but he was not charged with it until July of last year, he said.
