Hawarden,North Wales - Drunk Flintshire man dragged mum outside by legs and threw eggs at her in bizarre Christmas Day assault

Adrian Taylor, 30, was "totally out of control" during attack on mum Gina Taylor after he had been drinking all day

Christmas Day celebrations went sour when a man drank too much and ended up dragging his mum out onto the patio by the legs and throwing eggs at her.
Adrian Taylor had drunk a bottle of Jack Daniels before launching the assault on mother Gina Taylor at their home in Hawarden .
He’d been out drinking in the pub and continued drinking when he got home.
He started by throwing eggs at her, which cracked over her head. He then picked up the Christmas tree and threw it across the room, before moving on to the coffee table and the Sky box.
He then grabbed her by the legs and pulled her across the floor and out onto the concrete patio while hurling a torrent of verbal abuse at her.
At one point he had two knives on him.
Mrs Taylor was left humiliated and hurt by the ordeal, but turned up in court to support her son when he appeared at Mold crown court yesterday.
He was sentenced to a 12-week community order and 160 hours community service, and made to pay £170 in costs and surcharges.
Judge Gwyn Jones told Taylor, 30, that he was “totally out of control”.
He added: ““It is clear that for whatever reason you used significant force upon your mother.
“You failed to respect the fact that you were at her home. You continued with your tirade of abuse and made the situation worse by causing damage.”
Taylor, of Sorrel Court, said that he had six pints that day in the pub with his father and when he got home had a mixture of beer and spirits.
He agreed he was drunk and said that his relationship with his mother was good and that they normally got on very well.
In interview he said that he had never assaulted her before and did not argue with his mother.
He recalled pulling over the Christmas tree, he was fit and well, and had not taken any drugs.
Taylor said he hoped his mother would forgive him.
Probation officer Lisa Harris said that he did not recall anything of the offence or being arrested and believed that was because of excessive drinking.
Drinking spirits was unusual for him. He had previously made a decision to abstain from drinking spirits because of his previous behaviour.
He had been told that it all started when he was asked to turn the music down and could not believe that he acted in such a manner over such a trivial matter and caused injuries to his mum.
He was ashamed and remorseful and while he was not a dependent drinker he accepted that alcohol caused problems for him.
Taylor represented himself and said he could not remember doing it and was ashamed for what he had done.
“I don’t know why I drank it to be honest. I will not be doing it ever again, I can assure you,” he told the judge.
He described what he had done as horrible, he was totally ashamed and could not say sorry enough.
