Rhondda,South Wales - Around 1,200 cannabis plants discovered at industrial estate following police raid

Police say a full investigation is underway in relation to the production and supply of class B drugs and potentially human trafficking

Around 1,200 cannabis plants have been discovered by police at an industrial estate in the Valleys.
Police say a full investigation is underway in relation to the production and supply of Class B drugs and potentially human trafficking following a police raid at a unit on the Penygraig Industrial Estate, Rhondda.
The raid was carried out on Wednesday morning and South Wales Police confirmed two men have been arrested. It has not been stated what the men have been arrested on suspicion of.

"A full investigation is now underway"

A police statement said: “Today, officers from Rhondda carried out a search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act at an industrial unit [at] Penygraig Industrial Estate, Tonypandy, Rhondda.
“Effective entry was gained at the premises using a variety of tactics [and] two men were arrested at the scene.”
They added: “A full investigation is now underway in relation to the production and supply of Class B drugs at this unit and potentially human trafficking.
“All plants are in the process of being destroyed.
“A significant amount of horticultural equipment has been recovered and will be donated to allotment charities in the community.”
The statement added that the raid came as a result of intelligence from the local community, who are thanked for their help.
