Firefighters were called to a builder’s yard in Castle Street in Coedpoeth at about 8pm last night
Arsonists struck at a Wrexham business last night.
A builder’s yard in Castle Street in Coedpoeth was targeted at about 8pm, when 20 square metres of rubble was set on fire.
Flames were seen by locals rising into the sky as firefighters rushed to extinguish the blaze.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We sent one crew from Wrexham to a fire on Castle Road in Coedpoeth at 8.01pm.
“About 20 square metres of building rubble had been set on fire.
“The cause of the blaze was deliberate ignition.”
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and nobody was injured in the incident.
It is the latest in a string of arson attacks that have plagued Wrexham in recent years.
The fire service has repeatedly warned of the dangers of arson attacks, which tie up precious emergency resources and place people in danger.
Anybody with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101.
